Story synopsis of "Guardian Like a Sunflower"
This is a touching story intertwined with music, life, death and love. It revolves around the young boy Fu Qingyu and the girl Xiang Kui with congenital heart disease, showing their affectionate bond and persistence in life amidst the twists and turns of fate.
Fu Qingyu and Xiangkui met in the garden. Xiangkui is as warm and bright as a sunflower. She is strong in the face of congenital heart disease, still active in life and loves music. Fu Qingyu was attracted by her optimism, and the two formed a deep friendship. Fu Qingyu composed "Sunflower Aria" for Xiang Kui. The melody carries his appreciation and encouragement for Xiang Kui.
However, fate struck cruelly. One day while spending time with Fu Qingyu, Xiang Kui suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. During the rescue process, the electrocardiogram on the monitor gradually changed from regular beating to a straight line, and Xiangkui was eventually pronounced dead. Fu Qingyu couldn't accept this reality. In the morgue, with grief and reluctance, he played "Sunflower Aria" for Xiang Kui one after another, especially the aria on the G string repeatedly, as if he wanted to use music to wake up the sleeping Xiang Kui. The melody repeated a thousand times was his affectionate call and his reluctant attachment.
After Xiang Kui was pronounced dead, Fu Qingyu's world seemed to have lost its sunshine. But his longing for Xiangkui never stopped. He set Xiangkui's photos as screensavers on various electronic devices such as computers and mobile phones. Those electronic sunflowers that never withered became the symbol of Xiangkui in his heart. He constantly revised the score of "Sunflower Aria", hoping to find a miracle to awaken Xiangkui. He was even obsessed with studying the special audio frequency of 432 Hz, believing that this frequency might be able to awaken Xiangkui.
As Xiang Kui's friend and a nurse in the hospital, Lin Xia is also running for Xiang Kui's affairs. She brought Xiang Kui's pathology report, which concealed the abnormality of Xiang Kui's heart disease. There seemed to be an unknown secret behind it. At the memorial service, Lin Xia handed Xiang Kui's relics to Fu Qingyu. The sunflower brooch and note carried Xiang Kui's trust and expectations for Qingyu.
Although Xiang Kui was medically pronounced dead, the fire of hope in Fu Qingyu's heart never went out. He played the "Sunflower Aria" in an empty concert hall. When the lights came on, it seemed as if Sunflower had returned to him in another form. In the digital world, Xiangkui in the electronic screen saver will never wither. The looping G string fragment of "Sunflower Aria", with a frequency of 432 Hz, seems to be telling an immortal legend about love and life. It also makes readers look forward to whether Xiangkui can really return in some way and continue their story with Fu Qingyu.
