That was the first time I met Xu Chunmu. He squatted on the loess, wearing a pair of tattered green liberation shoes on his feet, and a wrinkled and faded light green shirt covered with patches. There's nothing special about him, he's just an ordinary kid from a barley field. The only thing that stands out is that there's always a cautiousness in his smile that I can't understand.
That was the first time I got to know Xu Chunmu. He was always alone. I looked at the excitement around him and then at his loneliness, so I walked towards him and said to him, "Xu Chunmu, are you willing to play with me?"
Xu Chunmu loves to laugh, and his smile is the best weapon to disguise himself.
That was the last time I saw Xu Chunmu. The small grave mound contained the little Xu Chunmu.
"Xu Chunmu, you said you would wait for me to come back."
"You broke your promise."
"I don't blame you though."
"Xu Chunmu, in the next life, I must be Chunmu."
