After dying unexpectedly in early summer, Chu Xia transmigrated into an angst-filled novel as Li Leyi’s doomed white moonlight. Li Leyi was the heroine, a rich girl born with a silver spoon in her mouth.
According to the original plot, she would meet the heroine by chance, find they shared the same outlook, and happen to save her. She would become a ray of light in the heroine’s dull life, then die just as the heroine fell deeply in love with her, becoming the only obsession of her life and driving her to complete darkness.
When the mission appeared, Chu Xia was lying on a big lawn, basking in the sun.
On-screen comments: 【Host, proceed to the auditorium immediately and complete your first encounter with the heroine, Li Leyi.】
Chu Xia rolled over comfortably and mumbled, “No.”
She’d already died once. Why would she want to cosplay as someone who dies young?
She decided to avoid every plot point that could bring them together, determined not to give Li Leyi any chance to fall for her.
At school, she took a detour and never passed the classroom Li Leyi was in, cutting off any chance of love at first sight.
At parties, whenever someone brought up Li Leyi, she lowered her head and focused on peeling shrimp, eating each one as soon as she’d peeled it and never joining the conversation.
At the New Year’s dance, when Li Leyi was drugged as part of a plot against her, Chu Xia anonymously alerted a reliable person to rescue her, then stayed well out of sight.
And so, Chu Xia and Li Leyi went their separate ways like two wisps of fluff drifting on the wind, never even knowing each other.
By the time the System noticed this bug, three years had already passed.
It let out a shrill scream. “Why aren’t you following the plot?! Complete your mission and earn enough points to extend your life, aaah!”
Chu Xia rested her head in the warm hollow of her mother’s shoulder and timidly refused. “Extend my life? No thanks. This world is pretty nice.”

Li Leyi had been born with a silver spoon in her mouth, but she was sick of every face around her. The ingratiating, the calculating, the scheming: everyone’s eyes gave away what they wanted.
She thought everyone was like that, until one afternoon a voice appeared in her mind without warning: 【Go to the auditorium and run into Li Leyi? Bah, not even a dog would go...】
The tone was languid, as if the speaker had just woken up, with a casual indifference to everything.
Later, at the school gate, at banquets, and in all sorts of other places, that voice kept sneaking into her mind:
【It’s fine, it’s fine. Being late is bad, but the good news is I won’t run into Li Leyi!】
【What nonsense! Cold and heartless? That’s just pure moral blackmail!】
After investigating, she began to pay attention to a girl named Chu Xia.
This girl seemed to know everything in advance, always managing to avoid her with uncanny precision... until the New Year’s dance.
Li Leyi took the tampered glass of champagne, raised it, and slowly took a sip.
She knew something was wrong with the drink. She also knew Chu Xia had sent someone to warn her. She drank it anyway.
After the dance, she cleared the room and leaned against the door Chu Xia was sure to pass. When she heard footsteps approach, she stepped forward and “accidentally” crashed into a fresh, soapy-scented embrace.
Her body went limp and her cheeks flushed, but her eyes remained clear as deep water.
She tilted her head up slightly and saw Chu Xia’s shocked expression.
Li Leyi leaned close to her ear, her voice as hoarse as a dying flame. “Now... save me.”
She had spent years studying Chu Xia. Now it was time to return to the plot.
Only, to hell with being a doomed white moonlight!
She was going to keep this person by her side for the rest of her life!
