What does it feel like to have your body possessed? Surely no one has more say on the matter than Lu Dongyu. Fortunately, Yu Feiwan was there, keeping things from getting worse.
At twenty-five, Lu Dongyu was living an enviable life: a successful career, a happy relationship, and a loving family.
Then disaster struck, and the Lu family lost two daughters in quick succession.
Lu Dongyu’s older sister died in an accident, while Lu Dongyu herself was still alive but no longer herself. Being alive was no different from being dead.
In this vast world, only the grief-stricken Lu family and Yu Feiwan, whose hopes had been crushed, remained.
No matter how bitter time became, Yu Feiwan had to grit her teeth and swallow it one mouthful at a time. She spent her days clinging to the last crumbs of sweetness in her memories. Sometimes, when she came home to an empty room, she began to feel dazed, as if she’d lived through a dream and could no longer tell reality from illusion.

But Yu Feiwan knew all too well that her heart was missing a piece. No matter how good her life was, nothing could make up for it. The only thing keeping her alive was a vague, elusive hope.
And so she waited for ten years.
When Lu Dongyu opened her eyes again, everyone around her reminded her that she was already thirty-five. Was that really true? Lu Dongyu was full of suspicion, building wall after wall around herself.
