The first cross-border setting of "Intangible Cultural Heritage Su Embroidery
Story core
Aerospace engineer Qing Qiuran (the "restorer" of the rational satellite) and Suzhou embroidery artist Shen Yiyan (the inheritor of Wenwan's intangible cultural heritage) met through a seminar on the modernization of traditional crafts. They initially clashed over the concepts of "accurate data" and "perceptual art". Heavy rain caused Shen Yiyan's studio to be flooded, and her painstaking embroidery "The Sky" was damaged. She used Su embroidery's "random stitching" technique to reshape the scars into "The New Sky", which shocked Qing Qiuran and made him reflect on his obsession with "perfection".
As the relationship between the two heats up, Qing Qiuran's need to stay at the northwest base for a long time triggers future planning conflicts. Shen Yiyan uses the "set of needles" philosophy to remind each other that they should "break the embeddedness" rather than confront each other. Qing Qiuran adjusted his work mode and moved part of his research to Suzhou to implement the "trocar acupuncture plan."
In the end, Shen Yiyan's "New Sky" shined at the international art exhibition, Qing Qiuran simultaneously completed the difficult satellite repair task, and the double-line highlight achieved "the stars and the moon shine together". Qing Qiuran crossed the mountains and seas to congratulate the award-winning Shen Yiyan. The two co-created "The South Wind Knows What I Want", achieving a perfect symbiosis of reason and sensibility, stars and threads in a small courtyard in Suzhou.
