The window on the third floor of the library always let in the gentle autumn sun. When Song Jianqiu was squatting in the used book section and looking for an out-of-print poetry collection, his back was suddenly lightly knocked.
"Sorry." A clear voice sounded, with an apologetic smile.
He turned around and bumped into Jiang Xubai's hand holding out the book - the "Autumn Whispers" he had been looking for for half a month, with a dry maple leaf still stuck on the cover.
"I see you searched for it several times." Jiang Xubai pointed to the loan slip in his hand, and his fingertips rubbed against the back of his hand, like the warmth of the autumn sun on his skin.
Later, every Wednesday afternoon, Song Jianqiu would see Jiang Xubai by the window in the old book area. He was reading historical books, while Jiang Xubai was writing programming code. Occasionally, they raised their heads to look at each other, and saw the maple leaves falling outside the window.
On the day of frost, Jiang Xubai put a note in his collection of poems: "The maple leaves will be red next week. Do you want to go to the back mountain together?"
Song Jianqiu pressed the note to her chest and heard her heart beating louder than turning the pages of a book. The autumn sun outside the window just fell on the overlapping pages of the two people's books, like an unfinished story, quietly blooming with a warm background.
Intention: The road in life is very long, so it only lasts for a moment, so cherish the present moment.
