Due to an extremely cruel "sculptor" serial murder case, Jiang Chen (Gong), a calm and rigorous forensic consultant, and Lu Qichi (Shou), a genius profiler who can see the last memory fragments of the deceased but was tortured for it, were forced to form a partnership. One of the two believes in absolute rationality and evidence, while the other relies on perceptual intuition and "illusion." During the investigation of seven crime scenes, they went from being mutually exclusive to sharing life and death.
