Some of the inconsistencies are not a matter of reading the book. Look at which character's perspective it is from. Each character's perspective is not complete, so there are deviations in each perception, and it is normal to know things that are not true and have misunderstandings.
Bo Yuhe's character is very problematic. He is neither a perfect character nor a healthy person. He has very big character flaws including but not limited to: selfishness/cowardice/cowardice/self-destructive tendencies/self-loathing/hatred of otherness, etc.
