Hanging Pupil: Introduction to the Work
"Some truths, once you gaze upon them, will plunge you into eternal darkness."
When forensic doctor Su Ling dissected the corpse of a mysterious death, he discovered that a strange active substance leaked from the deceased's eye sockets, and the eyeball that had detached from the socket actually rotated on its own in the formalin solution. What's even more frightening is that the deceased's eyeballs were not removed, but "went away on their own" - as if summoned by some indescribable existence.
At the same time, she received an anonymous letter signed "The Hanged One". In the attached old photo, her mother's face perfectly overlapped with the strange shadow in the mirror. The old house in the photo was the place where her mother disappeared twenty years ago - a genius ophthalmologist who once studied a forbidden technique called "upside-down pupils" in an underground laboratory.
Murderous cases of "eyeball theft" occurred one after another in the city. The eye sockets of the deceased were hollow, but some kind of "living darkness" remained. A bloody mandala mark was left at each crime scene, but the surveillance cameras only captured a faceless black figure standing in front of the corpses, gently "picking off" their eyeballs.
Criminal investigation captain Chen Duo once personally sent Su Ling's mother to a mental hospital, but now he has to join forces with her to investigate. They discovered that all the dead had looked into the same ancient mirror, and what was reflected in the mirror... Was never themselves.
"The Hanging Eye" - a cursed eye that can see death and the truth, is awakening.
And Su Ling may be her mother's last experiment.
Concept: "The Hanging Pupil" tells a story about 'seeing and being seen' - when humans try to conquer the darkness with their eyes, the darkness has already planted the seeds of madness deep in the pupils.
