I am Chu Mo, a psychiatrist, but I may be the sickest one.
Six months ago, I started having visual hallucinations. I can see "things" lying on the patient's body - greed is a crawling sarcoma, anger is a sharp crystal, and despair is a rusty pendulum. The textbook told me that this was a typical precursor to schizophrenia.
I diagnosed myself seven times, and my medical records were filled with self-doubt. I secretly went for a brain CT scan, and everything turned out to be normal. This did not reassure me, but made me even more frightened: If there was nothing wrong with my brain, then what on earth was what I saw?
Until the colleague who was smoking said to me: "Chu Mo, you are not sick. You just woke up."
He told me that the world is sick. Human's negative emotions will breed monsters called "weird", and I can see them. My psychological knowledge is not used to appease people's hearts, but is the only weapon used to fight against these indescribable things.
Now, as I sit in the consulting room, I am no longer dealing with simple anxiety or depression. My next patient's file said:
[Diagnosis: Being parasitized by "obsession" in a strange and deep way.
My "treatment" plan is: cognitive restructuring, behavioral intervention, and supernatural cleansing when necessary.
So, again, who am I?
I am Chu Mo, a psychiatrist.
Intention: Facing the pain and fear in your heart is not a sign of weakness, but the beginning of courage. Reconciliation with oneself is the ultimate power against all external madness.
