Harry Potter fanfic
ooc warning
Evans Drivant's life is like a lavender that barely blooms in the cold winter. He has been marked with the countdown "25" since his birth. He was used to enduring in the loneliness of Driventer Castle until he met Severus Snape - the man wrapped in a hard shell and hiding endless pain.
He approached cautiously, trying to warm the hands that always clutched the potion bottle with clumsy tenderness, hoping that more people would see the softness hidden under the harshness. He taught Harry and the others how to read Snape's duplicity, embed waiting in the plums, and hide concern in the lavender, thinking that he could pave a way for that lonely person to be surrounded by warmth.
But fate never allows too much extravagant hope. He returned to the cold castle with unspoken love and swallowed all the pain, leaving only a notebook full of silhouettes and the words "I've always been there" that he didn't have time to say.
Later, the plum trees at Hogwarts bore fruit every year, the lavender bloomed every year, and Snape's black robe was always stained with the scent of lavender, but he could no longer wait for the boy who would smile and hand over hot cocoa. Some tenderness is destined to only become the light in memories, which has been brightened and painful, and finally buried in the depths of the years together with the silence of the Driventer family.
Intention: Lonely souls will eventually meet
