"Half Sentence"
In 2010, at night in a small northern county, the lights were dim and the news was blocked. Here, many stories can only be told half a sentence - the rest is swallowed up by silence, rumors and fear.
A high school girl who was forced to drop out of school by her parents and was about to get married secretly read unsent letters on the last night before her wedding; a young homosexual who longed to be a woman typed "I want to be her" in a chat room for the first time in a dark corner of an Internet cafe; there were also laid-off workers, small vendors, street gangsters, pregnant women in the hospital... Their lives were intertwined in narrow streets and limited choices.
In this society that is not yet fully open, their secrets, struggles and desires are all suppressed under "half sentences" - they dare not say it and have nowhere to say it. The novel uses interlaced perspectives to capture their breathing and heartbeat in the night, showing the depression and glimmer of the small county in 2010.

Through intertwined narratives, the novel shows the glimmer of human nature under social oppression and explores the survival dilemma and self-salvation behind silence.
