Shen Yan hid a secret - he deliberately miscalculated the basic questions to barely maintain his "middle-level" personality. He was afraid that his grades would be too eye-catching and he would be sent to endless cram schools at home. But ever since the transfer student Lu Ci became his deskmate, this "disguise" has been in crisis every day.
Lu Ci seemed to be struggling with his wrong answer book. Every morning as soon as he sat down in the morning reading class, he would reach out and ask for it: "Let me see the wrong answer." The marks of the red pen circles were more detailed than the teacher's, even the decimal points that he deliberately wrote wrong were not missed. Shen Yan panicked several times, fearing that his disguise would be exposed. Until one self-study class, he caught a glimpse of Lu Ci writing a line of small words next to the wrong question: "This question is too wrong. Do you want to hide your strength?"
It turned out that Lu Ci had seen through his little thoughts, and he was just looking for a reason to get closer by grabbing the wrong question book - after all, only in this way could he write down the steps to solve the problem openly and clearly, and take it as a matter of course that "I will teach you by the way". Later, Shen Yan found out that Lu Ci transferred to this school just to find the "mysterious opponent" who deliberately handed in half a blank paper in the competition three years ago, causing him to miss the first place.
From the back-and-forth of grabbing the wrong question book, to solving the most difficult final question together during class, to standing side by side on the podium of the upper-level competition, the two teenagers with their own thoughts finally turned "pretend" into candidness, and turned "testing" into a two-way heartbeat in a time full of chalk dust and the fragrance of pen and ink.
