This is a warm story about childhood, companionship and growth. In a season of continuous autumn rain, Lin Wu, a little girl who had just entered first grade, was admitted to the hospital because her father was ill. In the ward that was filled with the smell of disinfectant, she met A Sheng, a boy who was also sick. The two children used their innocence and purity to build their own "secret base" in a depressing environment. They counted fallen leaves together, shared snacks, exchanged small gifts, and used laughter to dispel the gloom in the ward. The story depicts a short but profound childhood friendship with delicate brushstrokes, shows the contrast between the world in the eyes of children and the adult world, and also records Lin Wu's enlightenment about separation and growth that he quietly completed in his ignorance.
