The Dayu Dynasty was prosperous in culture and governance. Jiang Qingci entered the officialdom as the number one scholar, and when he was only seventeen years old, he was appointed by the emperor as the emperor's heir Taifu, and took charge of the emperor's prince and princess in Wenyuan Pavilion. He is as gentle as jade and has unparalleled talent and learning. All the noble ladies of the capital's aristocratic families fell in love with him, but his heart was as quiet as water and he thought it was his duty to teach him.
Prince Shen Yuqing is young and bright, but his status is unstable due to the accident of his mother's family. When I first saw Jiang Qingci at the lecture hall, wearing a green shirt and standing straight with curls, and his voice was as clear as a spring, I could not suppress my heartbeat. From then on, he regarded Jiang Qingci as light, as shore, and as the only warmth in this cold palace.
As time goes by, master and apprentice get along day and night. Jiang Qingci taught the prince with all his heart and regarded the prince as his nephew, and never exceeded the rules; but Shen Yuqing quietly turned that respect into deep love as he stared at him day after day. He hid the burning in his eyes, and only whispered to Taifu's copybook alone in the dead of night, "If I can watch the spring, autumn, snow and moon with you, even for a moment, it will be better than the eternal kingdom."
…………
One winter, it snowed heavily. Jiang Qingci wrote a final letter in front of the window.
Shen Yuqing came after hearing the news, hugged the body and cried bitterly, the sound shook the palace. He stroked his cold and still solemn face and murmured, "Sir, I have given you the most honorable position in the world. Why are you still unwilling to smile?"
For the rest of his life, the emperor lived alone in the Shengchen Palace, with a yellowed Analects of Confucius always placed on one side of his desk - it was annotated by Jiang Qingci himself. There was a line of small words on the title page that the prince wrote when he was young:
I am willing to follow my husband until death.
But even to his death, he could not truly possess that heart.
