The first time Lin Qian met Ji Yunzhi was at dusk in the High Line Park in Manhattan.
She was collecting the drawings that had been blown away by the wind in a panic, and Ji Yunzhi leaned over to pick up the last one and handed it back to her.
"Your perspective is very special," Ji Yunzhi looked at the drawing, "but the shadows here are wrong."
Lin Qian was surprised to find that this woman in a suit and leather shoes could see through the problems in her architectural sketch at a glance.
"I am Ji Yunzhi, from G&S Architectural Office."
Two weeks later, Lin Qian unexpectedly received an internship offer from G&S and was assigned to Ji Yunzhi's team.
She thought this was a lucky start, but she didn't know that she was entering a carefully designed chess game.
Ji Yunzhi needed a stand-in, and Lin Qian happened to have a profile that was strikingly similar to her Bai Yueguang.
