Introduction to "Lie Wei"
The sea was so blue that it looked like a lie.
When Jiang Yue lifted Lu Xu out of the waves for the first time, what he encountered was cold skin and even colder eyes. Throughout the summer, the self-proclaimed painter sat on the reef with his sketchbook spread out on his knees, his eyes lingering on the surfer's sun-dazzled body for a long time.
"What are you drawing?" Jiang Yue once asked with a smile.
"Sea." Lu Xu closed the book, his voice as light as the sea breeze.
That was the longest summer Jiang Yue had ever seen. The spray, the salt grains, the charcoal dust on Lu Xu's fingertips, and the trembling hand suddenly held in the sunset - everything was like a sweet illness. He thought they were in love, witnessed by Azure.
Until the last heavy rain at the end of summer, he broke into Lu Xu's studio and opened the sketch book that he had never been allowed to see.
Not the sea, nor his bright smile. Every page is him - him drowning and sinking, entangled in seaweed, and sinking into the dark depths with his pale face. Various deaths, various endings.
"Lu Sheng." Lu Xu's voice sounded behind him, lighter than the dust in the studio, "My brother."
Jiang Yue remembered that tournament two years ago. I remember that boy, I remember his provocative gesture, I remember the other person rushed into the fatal surge with enthusiasm. He remembers everything except how he indirectly caused the tragedy.
"I just wanted to see," Lu Xu said, his eyes like the sea where his brother drowned, "what kind of person can take away a life so easily."
But what he didn't say was how hatred quietly opened the cracks during those long days of sketching, allowing other things to seep in. The death imagination in his works, from the joyful revenge at the beginning, gradually turned into fear - the scenes in the fear sketch came true.
This realization made him unable to forgive himself.
The dusk when Lu Xu walked towards the sea was as blue as usual. He didn't look back at Jiang Yue, and walked step by step into the blue where his brother had been taken away, and into the drowning imaginations that he had drawn countless times.
Jiang Yue rushed into the sea and dived again and again until his strength was exhausted. All he caught was the water flow, just like what Lu Xu wrote on the last page of his diary: "I can never catch him."
That blue contains all lies and truth, love and hate, life and death. They all searched for salvation in it, but in the end they became the other side that could never reach each other.
Purpose: In the ashes of love and hate, explore the emptiness and reality of redemption - sometimes, the deepest tragedy does not originate from clear good and evil, but from unreconcilable cognition and memory.
