The wind of 1968, carrying the tide of the times, swept my father and the "third generation" youth of his generation from the familiar town to the unfamiliar countryside. It was a sudden encounter between youth and the land. Before the fragrance of ink on the books dissipated, the hands had to learn to identify wheat seedlings and seeds. During the hard years when he went to work in the countryside, fate allowed him to meet my mother. In 1977, the national decision to resume the college entrance examination blew like a spring breeze across the land of China, giving countless people the opportunity to change their destiny. My father was already a husband and a father at the time, and there were almost no review materials for reference, so he wasted a full ten years of study. The mathematics, physics and chemistry knowledge he was once familiar with had long been forgotten, and he missed college after all. But my father was not discouraged. In the end, with the tenacity and unyielding energy honed during his years as an educated youth, he went from being a technician in the factory to running his own branch to taking the lead in inventing the deviation signaling device for belt filter presses and applying for a patent. Although my father stumbled along the way, he never forgot his original intention. With his hands that had held a hoe, turned over drawings, and repaired electrical appliances, he supported a clear and warm sky for our family.
Intention: You grow up with me, and I grow old with you.
