"Chang'an Moon, Shine on Me" takes "Tang Dynasty" as its core and tells the story of Lin Wei, a history graduate student in the 21st century who is obsessed with the history of the Sui and Tang Dynasties. On the night of Jingzhe, he accidentally traveled to Chang'an of the prosperous Tang Dynasty in the 23rd year of Kaiyuan (735 AD). As "Miss Shen's cousin" (she used "amnesia" to conceal her origins in the early days), with modern knowledge and enthusiasm for history, she relied on her maid Achun in the prosperous and unknown city of Chang'an. While exploring her own identity and how to survive in this era, she also immersed herself in experiencing the urban life, various street scenes, and cultural features of the Tang Dynasty. From the confusion and anxiety when she first entered Chang'an, to gradually integrating and trying to use her own way (both respecting the historical context, and creating new collisions and possibilities due to the "outsider" perspective) to experience and even influence the people and things around her, the story will revolve around her growth, intersection with different characters, and the exploration of dreams, choices and "possibilities" of civilization in the "historically derived" time and space, showing the wonderful encounter and deep connection between a modern soul and the prosperous Chang'an.
