The story of Gu Wan and Xia Yaozhi begins in the youthful campus.
They met at the most innocent age, and became each other's only light during the years of running side by side. I originally thought that this relationship would lead to a new beginning with the end of the college entrance examination, but in front of a study abroad notice, I was separated by the time difference and distance.
One stayed at home, running hard but always staying in the same place; the other went to a foreign country and struggled to grow in loneliness and adaptation. Messages, phone calls, and videos once convinced them that the distance was only temporary. But reality eats up all the love in the quarrels and silences. Their pride and stubbornness made no one of them willing to bow down first. So, although we still love each other, we can only watch each other drift away.
"The only thing lonelier than saying goodbye" is not loss, but knowing that you are deeply in love but never being able to touch the other person again.
This is a story about youth, growth and unrequited love. It records the most real throbbing and the most painful parting. Many years later, when Xia Yaozhi returns to China after completing her studies and Gu Wang has already learned to face it alone, will the reunion heal the old wounds, or will it just make the memories painful again?
Perhaps only they themselves know the answer.
