The story centers on Wu Simu, an Internet writer who longs for family warmth, and tells the story of his life-long journey of finding love. The main plot revolves around Wu Simu's three online dating experiences of "running thousands of miles for love": the first time he was rejected because he was "too young", the second time he briefly had a family and was forcibly separated by his parents-in-law, and the third time he was rejected because of his voice. These successive failures, especially the relationship with independent dubbing artist Yang Yixuan that was full of temptation, contradiction and hurt, pushed his inferiority and sensitivity to the extreme, eventually leading to the complete collapse of his emotional world. The highlight is the ultimate "male protagonist abuse". Through delicate emotional dialogue and psychological description, it goes deep into the reshaping of labor, and finally leads to the tragedy of loneliness and fate. The subplot shows the growth arc of the two female characters Yang Yixuan and Lu Xianjiao in their respective emotional dilemmas, from relying on others to learning self-love, which is in sharp contrast to the tragedy of the male protagonist.
