Introduction to "Eaves Corner Wind Chimes"
A heavy rain at the end of summer caused Lin Qing, a student at the Academy of Fine Arts, to run into a used bookstore at the end of the alley, and also into the world of the shop owner Shen Yanci.
He once hid on a wicker chair and secretly mixed Shen Yanci's profile and the bookmarks on his fingertips into his sketches; later, they shared a pencil and drew the parasol trees at the entrance of the alley and the bluestone slabs after the rain, letting the smell of old books' ink and turpentine entangle into gentle threads.
In a postcard tucked into an old picture album, the sentence "The wind chimes ring in the corner of the eaves is the wind saying it wants to see you", which became a tacit confession. From the late summer rain to the autumn sunset, from soft conversations in bookstores to listening to the wind side by side on the field ridge, their stories are like the string of wind chimes on the corner of the eaves, shaking out tiny pieces of warmth in time, long and touching.
