Mozi (approximately 468 BC - 376 BC), named Zhai, was a native of the Lu State in the early Warring States Period, and some say he was a native of the Song Dynasty. He once served as a doctor in the Song Dynasty. He received Confucian education in his early years, but later abandoned Confucianism and founded Mohism, an important school known as Confucianism. His political views include respecting the virtuous, advocating unity, universal love, non-aggression, frugal use, frugal burial, heaven's will, bright ghosts, non-happiness, and non-fate. These ideas reflect the aspirations and demands of the lower class people.
