[OC text about teaming up with someone~]
The rain falls under the eaves, two shadows hiding from the rain.
One carries the warmth of a weapon, and the other fingertips still retain the glimmer of healing. They met by chance in the humid dusk. One said "I borrowed it", but the other handed over a dry handkerchief.
Later, they shared the light of the same oil lamp. On the long border patrol road, one told the legend of the fox demon he had heard in his childhood, and the other quietly mended the rip in the other's cloak. They thought it was just an ordinary mutual warmth in troubled times - just like two little beasts who happened to huddle in the same cave on a winter night, share body heat, and then go to different winds and snow after dawn.
They agreed that when the war was over, they would open a small bookstore together. One is responsible for repairing the broken spines of old books, and the other is planting green plants by the window. This agreement is so light, like a whisper that can be blown away by the wind at any time, but so heavy, becoming the only star that supports each other through the long darkness.
It was not until much later, when the whole world was singing their story, that everyone suddenly remembered that the rain that made them meet had never stopped from the beginning.
As for the bookstore they made an appointment with, no one has found it yet. Some people say that it is hidden in every night when the rain hits the eaves, in every old book waiting to be repaired, and in all the tender thoughts that are too late to be spoken.
