Synopsis
Pu Shixi, the most delicate and arrogant ninth princess of the Kangxi and Qianlong dynasties, was forced by an imperial edict to throw hydrangeas to attract marriage. Unexpectedly, the hydrangea had no eyes and hit the only enemy in the capital who dared to challenge her - the brave and unruly young general Huo Qiu. On their wedding night, the princess planned to revitalize her wife and give her husband a show of strength: "You sleep on the soft bed tonight!" Huo Qiu raised his eyebrows and sneered: "I'm afraid the princess has forgotten, but I caught it, but your majesty's imperial edict is not your arrow." From then on, the princess's house was full of chaos, and the drama in the capital changed its protagonist. Purpose: To explore individual freedom, growth and true love amidst the shackles of imposed fate and identity, and ultimately achieve a partnership of equal strength and mutual achievement. This is not a simple story of "the unruly princess is tamed" or "the arrogant general bows his head". Its deep connotation can be analyzed from the following levels: 1. Resistance and transcendence of feudal identity and imposed destiny: · Park Si-hee's dilemma: She is a noble princess, but she is also an "item" of imperial power and political marriage. Her "coquettish willfulness" is the only limited resistance and self-protection she can exercise in this golden cage. Hydrangea's marriage seemed to give her the right to choose, but in fact it was still another arrangement under the will of her father. Her "power" against her newlywed husband is essentially the fear and resistance that her destiny will be controlled by a stranger. · Huo Qiu's dilemma: He is a courtier and a consort, and this status destined him to be in a "low position" at the beginning of this relationship. He hated the restraints of the imperial examination and longed for the freedom of the battlefield, but he was forced to get involved in the most complicated court interpersonal relationships. His "uninhibitedness" and rebellion are a challenge to the oppression and inherent rules (such as the need to kowtow to the princess) brought about by the status of "consort". · Reflection of conception: The story will explore how they invariably resist the script imposed on them. They do not want to overthrow the order, but to fight for the right to speak and autonomy belonging to the two individuals "Park Si-hee" and "Huo Qiu" in the gaps of the order. Their union began with an accident (Hydrangea) and force (Imperial Decree), but the development of the story will be how they actively manage this relationship into their own choice. 2. Individual growth: from self-centeredness to understanding empathy: · Park Si-hee's growth: Her growth arc will be to shed the arrogance and prejudice brought by the status of "princess", learn to take responsibility, and know how to be considerate of others. She needs to understand that authority does not come from the roar of status, but from true ability and charisma. She went from using her status to oppress others ("Let my father chop your head off") to learning to use wisdom and emotion to win respect. · Huo Qiu's growth: His growth lies in learning to restrain his overly exaggerated edge, and knowing how to use strategy and wisdom in the court and palace, not just bravery on the battlefield. He needs to learn to understand and deal with complex emotions, and grow from a big boy to a responsible and thoughtful man. · Reflection of concept: Their love is the melting pot that catalyzes their growth. It is in the process of constant conflicts, frictions and facing crises together (such as assassinations) that they are forced to see each other's bright spots and their own shortcomings, thus completing the transformation from teenagers to adults. 3. Evenly matched love: The best partners are comrades who achieve mutual success: · Core of the relationship: This is not a relationship in which one party dominates the other, but a collision between "coquettish" and "uninhibited". They were dissatisfied with each other at first, but this "disobedience" came precisely from the fact that they were the same type of people - proud at heart and unwilling to surrender. · Reflection of concept: What the story wants to express is that the most stable and touching relationship is when you meet your opponent and are evenly matched. They will quarrel and stumbling each other, but in the face of real dangers and difficulties (such as the assassination at the end of Chapter 1), they will immediately show an amazing tacit understanding and become each other's most reliable back. Huo Qiu's bravery can protect Park Si-hee's safety, and Park Si-hee's wisdom and royal status will also become Huo Qiu's unique help in the court in the future. When they are together, it is not about who is dependent on the other, but 1 1 > 2, becoming stronger together and better able to cope with the wind and rain of the world.
