With a new theme, this is the only hardcore realistic gangster novel from the perspective of a local clan. The plot is hard-core, no clichés, not brainless, and has illustrations. If you like traditional gangster stories, you can read it (don't click if you care about the rating or if you just want to read mindless stories). Highly recommended.
This chapter can be seen as an elaborate and secretive "restoration ceremony." After the storm, the characters use a series of symbolic private actions (cooking with their own hands, arranging their hair, and sharing the morning light) to rebuild the life order and psychological boundaries disrupted by the crisis in a familiar physical space. This "ritualized daily routine" is full of the power to settle the body and mind. It is not only a buffer for the plot, but also an inevitable necessity of the narrative logic - they need such a ritual to truly end the past chapter and prepare to start a new chapter.
