A truly excellent book about tomb robbers. My name is He Shouyi, and I have been robbing tombs for twenty-two years. He was arrested in 2002 and sentenced to fifteen years. Later, he assisted the country in conducting underwater archeology for three years, and his sentence was reduced and he was released from prison. Now retired, he lives in an old alley in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. This book was dictated by me and edited by others. Some of the things written in it can be verified, and some cannot. If I can verify it, I've marked the source as much as possible. Even if I couldn't verify it, I wrote it truthfully - it was my personal experience, but I still haven't figured it out yet. My family's ancestral craftsmanship was passed down from Mr. Jiao's lineage. There are five gates in total: listening to thunder to identify acupoints, observing grass to recognize soil, smelling mud to determine the age, detecting traces and locating them, and identifying fakes and treasures. I have used these five skills to handle stone chamber tombs in the Nanyue Kingdom, porcelain-sealed earth tombs in the Southern Han Dynasty, sand tombs in the Song Dynasty, family tombs in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and shipwrecks in the Yangjiang waters. Some tomb structures cannot be seen outside Lingnan. I did it with three brothers. Ah Shui, a water ghost from the Dan family, can hold his breath underwater for four and a half minutes and use his fingers to find out the kiln mouth and age of porcelain. Lao Lin, a 21st generation fisherman in Yangjiang, can tell whether the seabed beneath his feet is a reef or a sunken ship when he stands on the bow and listens to the waves. Akun, a Hakka Feng Shui master, the ancestral compass can detect the direction of the tomb passage, and can also detect which mountain has something underneath. All three of them are gone. Ah Shui died of illness, Lao Lin passed away from his injuries, and A Kun was diagnosed with a terminal illness last year. This book is an explanation for them.
