There are indeed some surprises, but the biggest feeling is plainness and comfort. The most ordinary words create extraordinary language and characters. I have only read "District 9" of his, but this one book made me cry, laugh, get angry, and feel a lot of sadness following the author's writing style.
I have not deliberately gotten to know the author, but if I encounter his book again in the future, I will definitely click on it with anticipation and eagerness to read it.
