Has the Ability of Men to Swallow and Pop Bubbles Disappeared?

I found out carefully that when I defeated monsters in the past, I would devour them, and then there would be a chance that some abilities or organs would be exploded. It has been a long time since I exploded. Has it disappeared? Will fighting a whale now bring out that ability to change?
