[Mountain Foraging and Fishing] [Daily Intel] [Multiple Female Leads] [Reformed Playboy] [Family Life]
On the first day after transmigrating, Lu Ye has creditors banging on his door.
The rice jar is almost empty, the house is about to be repossessed, and three ex-wives are still living in the courtyard.
His first ex-wife is gentle and voluptuous, and a whiz at everything from cooking to housekeeping. His second is dazzling and fiery, with a silver tongue and a refusal to let anyone take advantage of her. His third is refined and literate. She looks quiet, but has a mind of her own.
Their marriages ended long ago, but during a famine, when even a full meal is hard to come by, all three still have to live in the same courtyard.
The villagers wait for a laugh: "With a lazybones like him, who can he possibly support?"
Fortunately, Lu Ye can see three pieces of mountain-forest intel every day.
Fat fish in a rocky stream, thick wood-ear mushrooms on a dead tree, the last haul of wild goods before the frost... The information is right in front of him, but he has to earn the money himself.
He heads into the mountains with his basket and wades into the river to collect goods. A buyer tries to lowball him? He sells somewhere else! Relatives covet his courtyard? Whoever took their money can deal with them!
He won't give up a single bit of what he's owed.
Once the grain jar is full and all three ex-wives are earning money of their own, Lu Ye starts to worry.
"Now that we can all get by on our own, which one of us do you want to stay?"
He looks at the west room, then the south room and the east wing, and smiles without a trace of shame.
"I can't bear to part with any of you three."
