Red Chi Restricted Zone: Kill Snakes on Rainy Days, and Dragons Will Call Your Name

[Folklore Horror x Rule-Based Mysteries x Decoding Snake Speech, One Female Lead, HE]

Whenever it rains, the Chishui River turns into a river of blood. Along its banks, there is one ironclad rule: Kill a snake on a rainy day, and the dragon will call your name.

My name is Chen He, an underwater psychological counselor who takes on bizarre cases from fishermen who "hear the river call their names." I may look like an ordinary, well-put-together man, but when I was seven, I drank from the Chishui River. From that day on, the thing beneath the river remembered my name.

The eight sentences it spoke are hidden in eight horrific cases dismissed as "accidents."

I'm the only one who can understand the sounds a snake hears before it dies. Before the ninth blood-rain falls, I have to piece those eight sentences together.

Whatever is being held behind that lock has never been a dragon.
