The Police Officer's Knight Syndrome Won't Get Better

[Gloomy, World-Weary Girl x Sunny, Heroic Police Officer]

[Age Gap | One-Sided Salvation | Healing Realism | Both Chaste]

Eighteen-year-old Yu Cong lost her home twice.

The first time, her father sold the house where she and her grandmother had depended on each other.

The second time, her grandmother died.

From high summer to the depths of winter, the rain in her life seemed as if it would never stop.

She stood by the river, ready to end it all. The moment she took a step, someone grabbed her wrist.

It was Zhang Yang, a police officer from the Chunfengli Police Station.

Yu Cong never imagined that the last person in the world to hold her back would be someone she had met only once.

He let her live in his home, acted as her guardian, and took her to see a doctor.

He said, "It's my duty."

Then he said, "No one else is looking out for you. I will."

He didn't know that when someone falling off a cliff grabs hold of a rope, they never let go.

The night she heard he was going on a blind date, she crouched beside the sofa and gazed at him sleeping.

She wanted to kiss him, to kiss him awake and see how he could still say, "It's my duty."

But in the end, she didn't move.

In her barren wasteland, he was the only rose.

She didn't want to frighten her "rose" just yet.

When Zhang Yang was a child, he wanted to be a superhero.

After becoming a police officer, he discovered there was a gap between his ideals and reality. His ideal was saving the world; reality was brawls and drunken disturbances.

That is, until he pulled a young woman back from the edge of the river.

Little by little, he began to feel that being a hero to just her might not be so bad.

Note: There is a seven-year age gap. The female lead is an adult, and there is no intimate relationship before she enters university.
