Lu Yuan, the young master of an antique shop on Old Street, is dragged into a pact with the underworld by an ancestral "yin artifact" and forced into a ghost marriage with Tang Wan'er, a thousand-year-old ghost maiden. From then on, he embarks on a path of learning the Dao, exploring tombs, vanquishing demons, and changing fate. Along the way, he uncovers a thousand-year-old feud involving his family's lineage of Celestial Masters, an old Daoist priest, Yang Guozhong, and the three-eyed civilization of Gendaya. In the end, he awakens his memories of a past life, breaks through to demigodhood, and sets off for a new world with Tang Wan'er.
