The 1970s: The Playboy Educated Youth Dotes Only on the Village’s Little Darling

Everyone in Qingshan Village knows the Chen family dotes on their daughter and can't bear to let her do any hard work.

The neighbors envy her, but what can they say? Her father is a teacher at the village school, her mother runs the village supply store, and her older brother is one of the strongest workers on the production team.

Chen Shu always thought her life was comfortable, and that things would stay peaceful. Then a young intellectual named Zhou arrived in the village.

The first time she saw him, she thought he was trouble and best avoided.

The second time, he accidentally injured her, and she cursed him in her heart eight hundred times.

But then, one day, she realized the troublemaker had changed. Before she could figure out what was going on, he blushed and blocked her path. "Comrade Chen Shu, I'd like to court you."

Chen Shu: "??"

Zhou Yu'an was a notorious troublemaker from the military compound in Beijing's western suburbs, hated by both people and dogs.

After he put someone in the hospital yet again, his father couldn't take it anymore and kicked him out to the countryside.

He angrily declared, "Fine, I'll go! And once I do, I'm never coming back!"

But when he arrived and saw the drafty mud house and endless yellow earth, he regretted it on the spot.

He'd already said it, though, so he could only grit his teeth and endure.

What he hadn't expected was to meet Chen Shu, a serene country girl with an extraordinary grace.

The first time he saw her, he couldn't help thinking, How could a girl like her be from the countryside?

The second time, he accidentally injured her, and for the first time in his life, the lawless little tyrant felt remorse.

After that, he couldn't take his eyes off her.

His mother wrote to ask when he was coming home.

He was peeling a mandarin for Chen Shu and didn't even raise his eyes. "Go home? I'm not going back. The countryside is great. I'm staying in Qingshan Village for the rest of my life."
