After We Got Our Marriage Certificate, I Froze My Wealthy Husband's Assets

I'm an estate administrator. I manage money for the dead.

On the day we registered our marriage, I pushed an agreement across the table to my groom: a twelve-month marriage, automatically terminated at the end of the term. Whoever breached it would forfeit all rights to the trust's benefits.

He laughed. "Are you getting married or putting together a merger?"

"I'm managing risk. You have forty minutes left."

The Lu family's 2.7-billion-yuan trust was tied up by a clause in a will: he had to marry before his thirty-third birthday and stay married for a full year, or he wouldn't get a cent.

And I was the trust's overseer, the only person with the legal authority to freeze his assets.

My mother-in-law pushed a "Waiver of Inheritance" in front of me. I turned around and froze the three million she'd embezzled.

Someone filed a real-name report accusing me of marrying into the family to climb the social ladder. I traced the source of the information in the report back to the person who filed it.

Everyone was waiting to see when I would be thrown out of the Lu family.

Only I knew I hadn't married into the Lu family for money.

There was a notarized authorization from ten years ago in the archives. The person who handled it was my father.

He went to prison for forging a will and died there.

That signature was real.

The truth is more terrifying than a forgery.
