The Heart Sutra of Buzhou

The fires of war blaze across a turbulent age. The jianghu and the imperial court should be two separate worlds, but a volume of the Scripture of Buzhou entangles them in an unending struggle. Ding Yunyi was once a martial artist adrift in the jianghu. By a twist of fate, he entered the treacherous court of the Great Liang dynasty, serving as chief of the Mighty Guard Bureau and moving between the emperor's schemes and the jianghu's feuds.

Zhuang Huiyu harbors grand ambitions and stirs up trouble amid the chaos. Regional princes, martial arts sects, and the White Lotus Society clash with one another. Conspiracies hide behind laughter, and murderous intent lurks beneath banquet tables. The campaign against Nanzhao, the mystery of the Tranquility Stone, and a succession of powerful fighters all take the stage, while bonds of loyalty and affection teeter on the brink of collapse before the ambitions of the realm.

A struggle for power leaves the entire Song family dead in a pool of blood, and former confidants turn into sworn enemies. Some sacrifice themselves, some choose a different path, and some ascend the throne only to be left in lonely desolation. Ding Yunyi witnesses the realm change hands with his own eyes and sees through the cruelty of political intrigue. When his close friend dies and his old dreams shatter, he can only set sail and leave with those who remain.

Across a vast jianghu and through a thousand years of emperors, none can escape the collapse of human bonds. The Scripture of Buzhou lays bare the impossible choices between loyalty, ambition, and destiny in a chaotic age, revealing that all things in the world are incomplete by nature, and thus are Buzhou.
