People don't disappear immediately after they die. You only truly die when the last person who remembers you has forgotten you too.
Wen Zhou is a funeral vigil keeper. Every night, he sits in an empty chair, listening as the dead, on the verge of being forgotten, tell the final stories of their lives. Then he remembers those stories for them.
The old tailor's unfinished wedding dress, the last look a mother never got to finish, the girl who can't remember how she died...
He helps them finish things, one by one.
Until one day, he discovers that part of his own photograph is blank too. Someone has been erased. And he has already forgotten who that person was.
“Wen Zhou, I’m back again. This time, can I sit a little longer?”
Remembering someone is the most precious confession in the world.
