At sixteen, Yu Mai looked forward to the end of school more than anything, yet she was also the last to want to go home.
She wanted to spend more time with Chen Xu, even if it was just to hear him say one more pointless thing.
At first, she borrowed one of his working earbuds. Later, they recorded audio together. She came up with all kinds of excuses to see him. Sometimes she had no reason at all, but still wanted to stop by Class Eight and look for him.
After the college entrance exams, Chen Xu asked, "Are we taking the bus together tomorrow?"
"There's no school tomorrow."
"I know."
Yu Mai tried hard to hold back a smile, but kept asking what time anyway.

They lost touch for a while. When they reunited, Chen Xu asked her again if they could go on another date.
