[Urban Slice of Life + Multiple Heroines + Mild Yandere + Love Rivalry + Lighthearted Comedy + Sweet and Angsty + No System]
My editor told me to write a yandere story. I said, "Where do you even see yanderes in real life?"
She wouldn't believe me.
Before starting my new novel, I based six characters on people I knew: my childhood friend who loves bringing me breakfast, the older neighbor who always leaves the light on for me, my senior who makes plans for me, the shy deskmate who's been drawing me for two years, the gallery curator, and my editor who keeps asking for updates.
They all said we were just friends.
But after they read the book, they each showed up at my door to claim their characters. My childhood friend: "Don't treat me like one of the guys." My neighbor: "I'll stop bringing you food from now on." My senior: "Make your own plans." My deskmate: "Is that character supposed to be me?" The gallery owner: "Let's talk another day." My editor: "You don't get to decide how it ends."
I bought a ticket to get some peace and quiet, but my editor messaged me at the station: "Teacher Jiang, where are you running off to?"
Now they take turns showing up to demand more chapters. I asked if I could at least finish the story first. They said, "No. We take every word you write seriously."
