Modern career woman Su Xia, a skilled fighter, dies from overwork and transmigrates into the same-named shrewish cannon-fodder wife in a story set in the past. The original character jumped into a river to force a man to marry her. After the wedding, she mistreated her mother-in-law and was framed by her cousin, ruining her reputation. The transmigrated heroine sticks to her clear-eyed, self-interested principles and refuses to whitewash the original character's misdeeds. She won't lose her head over romance or forgive her awful relatives. The main plot has two threads: 1. Settling accounts with everyone in the Su family who schemed against her, including her younger female cousin hiring thugs and her older female cousin taking her place in the art troupe; 2. Cutting ties and divorcing her army officer husband, Gu Mocheng, whom she has never met, then seizing the opportunity in the clothing wholesale business to start her own company. In a side plot, she travels all the way to Yangcheng to rescue her kidnapped, smuggling father, and teams up with Gu temporarily to dismantle a human-trafficking ring operating across several provinces. The two remain strangers to each other throughout. After the truth comes out, the heroine decisively refuses to get back together and focuses on making money and thriving on her own.
