Journey to the West: The Richest Man Cultivates Immortality and Buys Out the Yellow Lion Spirit from the Start

After transmigrating into Journey to the West, Su Chen becomes the richest man in the Tang Empire, only to discover that all the gods and Buddhas in the heavens see mortals as livestock-raised ants.

To live forever and stay alive, he takes a massive caravan laden with rare vintage liquor and exquisite glassware to seek out Yellow Lion Spirit, the most law-abiding monster in all of Journey to the West.

"Ten carts of the finest liquor for one scroll of cultivation techniques. Deal?"

Looking at the piles of priceless treasures, Yellow Lion Spirit is so moved he bursts into tears and immediately swears brotherhood with Su Chen.

Once he embarks on the path to immortality, Su Chen knows he can't rely on the immortals and Buddhas, so he secretly binds himself tightly to the Tang Empire's human destiny.

He introduces potatoes, educates the people, and develops firearms. The Tang Empire's strength begins to soar, and humanity's destiny reaches unprecedented heights.

One day, Guanyin Bodhisattva arrives in Chang'an, sees cultivators filling the streets and spirit-powered cannons mounted on the city walls, and is completely dumbfounded.

The Jade Emperor is even more horrified to discover that the throne of the Human Emperor, long since severed by the Heavenly Court, has been forcibly restored by a Tang magnate!

Su Chen sneers. "I will bow to neither the Heavenly Court nor the Spirit Mountain. Today, I, Su Chen, will attain sainthood through the human path!"
