Honghuang: I Dare to Rival the Heavens

To establish the heart of Heaven and Earth, to secure the lives of the people, to continue the lost teachings of the sages, and to bring peace to all generations. Cheng Xiao shouted at the heavens: "Heaven and Earth are not benevolent, treating all things as straw dogs. The sages are not benevolent, treating the people as straw dogs. With me, Cheng Xiao, here today, I will strike down Heaven!" With that, he led hundreds of millions of cultivators to the Heavenly Court, swords pointed at the Jade Emperor. But just then, a sudden change erupted. The Eye of the Heavenly Dao opened, and the Heavenly Dao's suppression swept down at once. Daoist Hongjun arrived on the battlefield from beyond the Ninth Heaven, stepping through the void. Cheng Xiao had reached the realm of the Hunyuan Wuji Daluo Golden Immortal, yet was still struggling against the Heavenly Dao, while the cultivators he had gathered fell one after another.

Cheng Xiao cried out in anguish: "Today, I, Cheng Xiao, have set my Daoist heart and made my vow: to find a path to survival for these countless cultivators." As soon as he finished speaking, he detonated his own origin.

But did he really die?

On that day, Cheng Xiao of the second life stepped upon the Three Realms Sword, pointing beyond the Primordial Chaos. The power of the Seven Deadly Sins swirled around her, venting its discontent. He shouted, "I am fake. The world is fake. They are all fake. Where is the real me? Am I myself? Why do I have to be me? What am I the me of, exactly?"
