Synopsis
Yao Laosan is a locksmith. In ten years, he's never picked a decent lock. They've all been junk.
Then he picks a bank vault lock, and words appear before his eyes: [Reward: X-ray vision activated]. He gets home, looks through a wall, and sees everything in his neighbor's house.
Next, he picks the evidence room lock at the police station and earns “Wind-Hearing Ears.” He overhears Qian Baiwan on the phone: “Take out Yao Laosan.” He calls him right back. “Mr. Qian, what was that you just said? I'm hard of hearing.”
Then he picks the mechanism lock at an antique shop and earns “Steel Muscles and Iron Bones.” He misses a step on the eighteenth floor, crashes through a third-floor balcony, and lands right on top of Old Zhou, who's cheating on his wife, sending him straight into a fish tank. Old Zhou looks up. “Are you a locksmith or a demolition crew?” Yao Laosan replies, “Low-altitude flight. I misjudged the height.”
There are seven legendary ancestral locks in the city. Picking one grants a random superpower. Qian Baiwan owns three and won't let him touch them. So Yao Laosan replaces all three hundred locks in his skyscraper overnight with voice-activated ones. The password is “Yao Laosan is the city's most handsome locksmith.” Get one word wrong and the door locks automatically, then plays “Good Days” on repeat. Qian Baiwan yells for an entire morning. Even when the police arrive, they have to call Yao Laosan. His rate: fifty yuan to pick a lock, three million for installation. No bargaining.
At last, he picks his own front-door lock and earns the ultimate reward: time reversal, at the cost of one hair per use. That night, his master's wife calls. “Your master forgot me again!” He turns back time, rushes into the nursing home, and slaps his master. “Yao Daqiang! Wang Cuihua is your wife!” His master wakes up. “Got it... Who are you?” Yao Laosan replies, “Your disciple!” His master says, “Oh. I sent you a red envelope, five yuan. Don't complain it's too little.”
Yao Laosan feels the top of his head. He went bald just to get a five-yuan red envelope.
