But the egg was lost amid the royal family's power struggles.
Chu Qing is an orphaned insect. Ever since he hatched in a junkyard, he has been alone, an insect grub struggling to survive on a junk planet. Though perhaps he wasn't entirely alone: a luan bird had been with him, but it later disappeared. He searched the whole junk planet and never found it...
By chance, he ran into another insect grub in the junkyard.
Chu Qing's first impression of Xia Bai was that he was a prickly, sharp-tongued grub.
Their very first words to each other were: "Hey, filthy bug! This is my territory. Wherever you came from, go back there!"
Chu Qing wasn't about to listen, so they fought, and both grubs ended up battered and bruised.
