In the third year of the apocalypse, overworked corporate drone Lu Qi opens her eyes to find herself the destitute "owner" of an abandoned amusement park. The wall has collapsed, all the lights are out, and rotting corpses are scratching at the gate.
The amusement park System bound to her issues its first mission in a cold voice: open the park for business within thirty days.
While everyone else hoards guns and food in the apocalypse, Lu Qi repairs the carousels, installs a Ferris wheel, and opens a food street.
Survivors pay admission with supplies. On the night ten-year-old orphan Su Xiaoman rides the carousel, a burst of green light explodes above her head. The park has its first superpower awakener.
The bigger the amusement park and the louder the laughter, the greater the chance that visitors will awaken superpowers. The kind of strength guns and cannons can't buy is produced in bulk amid the screams on the roller coaster.
Marauders want to seize the park by force, major settlements want to forcibly absorb it, and the official relief agency wants to register every awakened person. They all come pounding at the gates.
Lu Qi smiles as she announces a new rule: Want to fight? Get in line first. One ticket per round.
No one else is opening a park in the apocalypse?
Then she'll give tomorrow back to everyone.
