The Jingkang humiliation remains unavenged.
Shen Yan, a modern soccer player, transmigrates to the freezing Five Kingdoms City, where he is a low-ranking official in the Jin Kingdom and faces the captured Emperors Huizong and Qinzong.
Hidden in the prison city, he secretly passes messages and stakes his life on rescuing the two emperors and escorting them back to Song territory.
Currents swirl beneath the Jin court. War between Jin and Song breaks out again, while Western Xia waits for its chance.
A chaotic game of strategy unfolds, spanning espionage in the prison city, war between two nations, and political intrigue at court.
Using every scrap of his wit and every means at his disposal, Shen Yan ultimately manages to rescue only one person and bring him south to his homeland.
But after their return, even greater challenges and trials await them, as the power struggle between Zhao Huan and Zhao Gou grows increasingly fierce.
Can Shen Yan turn the tide, change history, and reclaim the lost lands, or can he only watch helplessly as history's wheels roll forward, unable to change its original ending?
