Reborn on the Korean Peninsula in 1997: It's Time to Change the Chaebol List

At the end of 1997, when twenty-six-year-old Han Daoyun was reborn, his family was waiting for a buyer to make one final offer. The factory buildings, equipment, and export business were all being sold together, while the goods in the warehouse were being written off as deadweight.

He knew there were still people willing to pay in U.S. dollars for this stock.

He staked his savings and won ten days to sell the entire lot. When the first shipment left the warehouse and the first profit margin came in, he paid for his mother's new home, then approached a partner to discuss an acquisition of his own.

But even after establishing his own company, the most profitable part of the business remained in the hands of those who controlled the brands and retail counters. He had to fight for the sales company, the old brand, and the department store counters one by one. Some people raised their prices, some snatched away orders, and others held shares while waiting for him to deliver their returns.

Jiang Yunshu wanted a business of her own. His mother wanted a life she could control herself. And he wanted to turn the businesses he had built for others over the years into assets he had the right to decide how to use.

When Dongyao also began selling off its businesses, the list finally placed before him was no longer a set of errands for him to run.
