He Yuan, an ordinary college student, is unexpectedly bound to the "Secret Card-Drawing System." Every day at midnight, he draws a card bearing a secret: a lie, identity, or desire belonging to someone around him. But the System's rules are bizarre: a card only activates if he shares its secret with at least one person, rewarding him with a "mind-reading fragment." Otherwise, his memories will be steadily eroded. To stay alive, He Yuan has no choice but to keep revealing secrets, drawing him into a conspiracy spanning twenty years. He exposes the fake persona of the campus belle and uncovers a business tycoon's money-laundering scheme. Each revelation brings him closer to the truth of human nature, while also drawing him nearer to a man who never gets involved: Luo Wuzheng. A "loser" who lies flat forever and appears to have no ambition, he seems to materialize like a ghost in the gaps between every secret. He Yuan gradually realizes that every secret is a deliberately placed piece on a chessboard, and "giving up" is merely Luo Wuzheng's most terrifying disguise. The more secrets he shares, the stronger he becomes; the stronger he becomes, the closer he gets to the abyss. At last, He Yuan draws an unsigned card. Written on it is his own secret.
