Reborn as the Beloved of the Regent's Household

Four-year-old orphan Lin Zhiyan crashed headfirst into the Great Jing Dynasty while someone was stealing his steamed bun. Soaked through, he tumbled into a ruined temple on a rainy night and came face-to-face with Prince Regent Xiao Jue, who was badly wounded, near death, and seething with menace.

Just as he was about to be killed to keep him quiet, he clutched out half a dry bun and offered it to him, saying softly, "Here, eat this. It won't hurt."

The vicious, bloodthirsty living King of Hell froze on the spot, then carried the child back to his manor and spoiled him without restraint from then on.

The regent, cold and ruthless to everyone else, personally fed him and soothed him to sleep, and always cleaned up after his troublemaking. The emperor skipped court to play with the child, while the crown prince, princess, and senior brothers all protected him. Every time a villain brought trouble on themselves, they were humiliated, time and time again.

As he raised the little one, the child grew up, and the regent found he could no longer take his heart back.
