Ordered to Confiscate Their Wealth, Could the Empress Really Let Me Pocket Some?

Gu Changye transmigrates to the Great Jing Dynasty and binds himself to the Imperial Decree Confiscation System!

As long as he investigates and confiscates the property of corrupt officials by imperial decree, the ill-gotten silver he seizes can be converted into points for a lottery, where he can win secret investigative techniques, talented aides, martial arts skills, and destiny traits.

He assumes he is merely carrying out imperial orders to root out corruption. But who could have guessed that the nation-toppling Empress would defy convention and summon Gu Changye in secret, telling him not to forget to "pocket some of the ill-gotten gains" while confiscating property?

She even makes a point of emphasizing, "Don't hold back! The more, the better!"

The entire court erupts.

As one deeply buried corruption case after another is brought to light, the corrupt officials wail as one: "Ancestor! Please stop confiscating! You're about to take even the clothes off our backs!"

Rumors spread throughout the court as well: "Divine Detective Gu is only righteous on the surface! In reality, he's a towering, greedy official! He's already richer than the nation!"

The nation-toppling Empress: "He has special authorization from the throne! Divine Detective Gu is only following orders!"

Gu Changye: "I really haven't been taking bribes! As for your claim that I'm richer than the nation, this melon is guaranteed ripe!"
